MISTLINE MEDIA / ALBERTA, CANADA
Privacy, in plain language.
What this site collects, what it does not, and how to contact us.
Who is responsible#
Mistline Media, based in Alberta, Canada, operates the Mount Maker website at www.mountmaker.net. Contact [email protected] for questions about this notice, personal information, or a privacy request. This notice covers the website and enquiries sent to us. itch.io operates the store and community under its own policies.
Browsing this website#
The site provides product information, documentation, and updates without requiring an account. Its application code does not set cookies, store identifiers in local storage, run advertising or analytics scripts, or embed checkout, videos, or discussion widgets.
Documentation search runs in your browser using a static index downloaded from this site. The words you type are not sent to a search service, added to the page URL, or stored by the website. Ordinary requests for pages, images, and the search index still pass through the hosting provider.
Hosting and security#
Cloudflare delivers and protects the website. To handle a request and secure its network, Cloudflare processes technical information such as an IP address, requested URL, request time, and browser or network information. Mistline Media may have access to traffic and security information made available through the hosting service for operating the site and investigating abuse.
Cloudflare's processing and any provider-held records are governed by the services in use and its policies. Security features may use necessary cookies when enabled. See our cookie information and Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you contact us#
When you email Mistline Media, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message, and any attachments. We use them to answer your enquiry, troubleshoot a problem, or handle a business or privacy request. Providing information for support does not subscribe you to marketing.
Send only information needed for the enquiry. In particular, check screenshots and project photographs for private details before attaching them. Our [email protected] mailbox is hosted by Namecheap Private Email. Your address, message content, and attachments are processed through that service and the services involved in sending your message. See Namecheap's privacy policy.
Purchases and community participation#
Purchase, download, and community links take you to itch.io. Its own account, payment, cookie, and privacy practices apply there. This site does not host payment fields or collect payment-card details.
If you buy Mount Maker or contact us through itch.io, the platform may make relevant purchase or message information available to us as the publisher so that we can fulfil purchases or respond to you. Public community posts are visible under itch.io's community settings. Read the itch.io privacy policy.
Purposes and legal grounds#
We use information for the purposes described above: delivering and securing the site, responding to enquiries, providing requested support, and meeting applicable legal obligations. We limit collection and use to what is reasonably needed for those purposes.
Where consent is required, we seek it and respect its withdrawal, subject to legal or contractual limits. Where EU or UK data-protection law applies, the grounds may include our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and answering enquiries, taking steps at your request or performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or consent where required. You can contact us to ask which ground applies to a particular use.
Sharing and international processing#
Service providers may process information to deliver hosting, network security, email, and sales services. These services can involve processing outside Alberta or Canada, including in the United States and other countries where providers operate. Namecheap identifies the United States as a location for its Private Email servers. Information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. Contact us at [email protected] for information about our use of providers outside Canada. See Namecheap's datacenter information.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-site advertising. Information may be disclosed where necessary to comply with a lawful requirement or to protect the security and legal rights of the service. If a transfer requires safeguards under applicable law, those safeguards must be in place for that transfer.
Retention and security#
We currently have no fixed automatic deletion schedule for support email. Support records may remain in our mailbox after an enquiry ends. You can contact us to ask about a record or request deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements. We are reviewing our retention process before introducing a fixed period.
Deleting a message from our active mailbox does not necessarily immediately remove a provider-held backup. Namecheap's Private Email terms describe daily server backups retained for up to four weeks. Technical website records follow the applicable Cloudflare service settings and policies. See Private Email's backup terms.
We use access controls and service-provider security measures appropriate to the information involved. No online service or email system can guarantee absolute security. When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or anonymized, subject to applicable retention duties.
Your choices and rights#
Contact [email protected] to request access to or correction of personal information held by Mistline Media, ask about its use or disclosure, withdraw consent where applicable, or raise a concern. We may need proportionate information to verify identity before acting on a request.
Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability. These rights have legal exceptions; we will explain any applicable limitation when responding. For information controlled by itch.io, contact itch.io directly under its policy.
You may raise an unresolved Alberta privacy concern with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. Where another privacy regulator has jurisdiction, you can contact that regulator as well.
Changes to this notice#
We will update this notice when the website's practices change. Adding analytics, account features, an embedded service, or a dedicated forum would require a fresh assessment and appropriate information or consent before those features begin collecting data. The date at the top identifies the current notice.
