Another update for Mount Maker!

I've been working away on a bunch of new features, improvements, and bug fixes over the last little while. This update brings some more customization options, better fitting parts, and a few quality of life improvements to make everything a little easier to use.

More Freedom With Whoop Canopies#

I've expanded the whoop canopy generator to support larger designs, with mounting spacing and electronics space now reaching up to 60mm.

I've also cleaned up the camera angle controls and fixed a few geometry issues that could cause problems with larger canopies or more aggressive camera angles.

These are still in testing and need feedback.

Better Electronics Trays#

When using bolt mounting, the unnecessary zip-tie slots are now automatically removed. You can also move single- and double-bolt mounting points forward or backward to better fit your particular setup.

New Motor Protection Options#

This is one of the bigger additions to this update.

I've added several new styles of motor protection, including rounded bumpers, split-toe shoes, and ribbed bando-style shoes.

There's quite a bit of freedom to customize these, including their size, coverage, motor clearance, and positioning.

I've also added some new options for the bottoms of your arm protectors, including flat, rounded, and curved designs. Gaps between arm guards and motor protection are now filled automatically, which should help produce cleaner, easier-to-print models.

A Better Experience on Different Screens#

I've spent some time improving how Mount Maker handles different screen sizes and resolutions.

You can now adjust the interface scaling, resize windows, choose from window-size presets, or switch to fullscreen. The layout should also do a better job of adapting to different window sizes.

Your preferences are saved too, so you won't need to keep setting everything up each time you launch the program.

Linux and Mac Progress!#

I've also been working on getting Mount Maker running on more platforms.

Full and Demo builds have been prepared for Linux, including native file dialogs and properly writable libraries.

Work on the Mac version is continuing as well, with the latest changes being incorporated into the port. It is now notarized through Apple and should run without issue.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements#

As usual, there's been plenty of work behind the scenes too.

I've improved the error messages for missing geometry components, restored automatic graphics selection on Windows, and fixed an issue with the module selection dropdown.

All seven modules have now been checked in both the Full and Demo Windows versions.

DJI Osmo Nano Mount Progress#

I've also been experimenting with a sleeve for the DJI Osmo Nano.

The current landscape design has an open lens area and smaller tabs to help with inserting the camera.

This one is still a work in progress, though. I haven't had a chance to physically print and test the fit yet, so it's not quite ready to call finished.
