Development Resumed

Originally published on itch.io

Hello Friends!

It has been awhile, but some tangible progress is finally here. A fundamental rewrite has been completed with some huge features in the works. More news will be coming soon, but if you are reading this, you are the very first to know.

This rewrite focuses on a major sticking point for me, which is long term useability. Up until now, camera compatibility has been largely dependent on me designing sleeves for every camera type. Being that I have a full time job, this just isn't reasonable for the long term. In the upcoming update, we will see that shifted into a combination of community support, but also simple to use tools that will allow you to download and use any 3rd party stl for (almost) any drone.

some stuff that is in the works:

  • Sleeve importing (allow you to import a camera mount and cut off the base to use on a different setup)
  • saving and sharing of bases and sleeves (allow users to share sleeves to the community)
  • Parametric mesh based modifications (the old system of using components has been replaced by pure mesh generation, allowing more control)
  • antenna mounts, feet, receiver mounts, and etc (a one stop shop for any print you may need)
  • Refreshed UI. A new interface that is cleaner and more functional, even if it wont be as pretty

I estimate a week or two (maybe less) until an actual release. Thank you all for so much support over these years.
